Tareq's Swedish Meatballs

Serves 4-6



  • 500 g minced pork
  • 2 white onions
  • ½ tsp ground allspice
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 dl breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 2-3 tsp salt
  • 2 dl milk
  • 3-4 tbsp butter

How to do it

  1. Peel and chop the onions finely.
  2. In a bowl mix the chopped onions with the spices, breadcrumbs, eggs and milk.
  3. Allow to rest for 2 minutes before adding the minced meat.
  4. Blend everything together using your hands.
  5. Wet your hands with a little cold water and shape the mixture into small meatballs.
  6. Fry in butter in a frying pan on medium heat.
  7. Serve with lingonberry jam and mashed potatoes.


Lingonberry Jam:


  • 500 g frozen lingonberries
  • 1 dl sugar

How to do it

  1. Mix the frozen berries and the sugar.
  2. Allow to defrost in room temperature.
  3. Keep in a jar in the fridge.
